Onto the next Holiday } Jillbean & Burlap

Hey there everyone, i'm moving on to the next holiday. I wanted to create with something different today, and I thought well Valentine's Day will be here i'm sure before I know it. I created this fun little card using the Jillibean Hearty Barley, and then I tried to create a fun little flower using some burlap. I put it all together with my Xyron of course.

So I think I need a little practice on my burlap flower, but it was fun to try and create it. It gives the card a totally different look!! I grabbed some burlap at The Scrapbooking Studio....yes they now have burlap :):)

Well thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a fabulous day!

WOOHOO!!! I am super excited right now. This morning I received a super exciting email telling me that I am moving on to round 2 of the Spellbinders DT call!!! After I sat there for a while reading the email over and over again...making sure I was reading it right, my first thought was.....ok I did an altered project for round one. Now do I do a layout or a card for round 2??? I have thought about this all day and still have not decided :) I'm thinking I will do both and send which one I like the best!! So here is the post right from the Spellbinders blog. Congrats to everyone on this list!!

Wow! What a first round it has been! The entries poured in from all over... not just the country... but from all over the world! The amount of talent that was showcased just blows our minds. We had all sorts of entries from cards, to scrapbook layouts, to mixed media projects. Each one of them was unique and truly showed the spirit of the person who created it. Thank you to everyone who participated in round one!

PDCC 110 } Naughty & Nice

Hey there everyone, well it's time for another fabulous color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe! So I totally love these colors together, especially since I love non traditional colors for Christmas.

So once again we have another fabulous sponsor, who was kind enough to share some goodies with us to play with. This weeks sponsor is.....
DRS designs

I just love the saying that I got to play with...it's perfect with the picture on this layout :) It says "Together we're like stripes on a candy cane sweet, bent, and twisted!!! LOL Here is my take on the challenge.

On this layout I used the Christmas line from My Minds Eye. I love the little 3D and chipboard stickers that go with this line. I used my Embellie Gellie from ScraPerfect to help me place the blue bling where I wanted it.
Now make sure you head over to The Play Date Cafe blog and get all the details on this weeks prize. I can't wait to see all of your fabulous creations!!

Have a wonderful day,
Stacy

O Christmas Tree

Hey there everyone, well I think it's starting to look like Christmas here finally. We have been so busy, but last night we finally put up our tree and this morning we woke up to snow flurries!! I want to share a little Christmas tree that I have altered for my scraproom. This wooden Christmas tree came from Say It With Letters....totally loving all of the wooden shapes I have had the chance to play with from them.

So here is what the tree looked like to start with.

The first step is to lay your tree on the paper you are going to use and trace the tree. You will need to do this for both sides of the tree, then simply cut out. You will also want to do this for the base of the tree as well. I used 2 different papers for the tree and the base. The papers are from the new Style Essentials line from Echo Park. I applied The Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect with a painbrush to adhere the paper to the tree. Love the fact that this does not make my paper bubble up :)

Now for the sides of the tree, you can cut a 1/2 inch strip of paper for the edges. Simply cut the strips to the length needed and then adhere to the tree. Once you have completed this here is what your tree will look like.

Now would be the time to ink the edges if you would like before trimming the tree. Next it's time for the fun part....decorating. I used some super fun chipboard stickers on the tree and added some to the base as well. The cute chipboard stickers are also from Echo Parks Holly Jolly Christmas line.

Here are a couple of close up pictures as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope this puts you in the mood to create your own Christmas tree for your scraproom. You can find these fun chipboard stickers and this paper at The Scrapbooking Studio. Hope you have a fabulous day!
