Altered Candle

Hey there everyone, thanks for stopping.  I'm sharing one of my projects for Petaloo with you today.    As i'm thinking of taking down my Christmas decorations and getting back out all of the old decor that I had on my shelf....I saw this big brown candle just sitting there looking very plain now.  I always feel that the house looks so empty after putting away all of the Holiday decor.
I thought to myself....new year, new decor and an instant project was in the works!!!  I took this plain tall brown candle that I had, added some burlap and Petaloo goodies and I love the way it looks!  So after you put all of your Holiday decorations away and you are bringing back out the old plain stuff again....just grab your Petaloo goodies, a glue gun and get to work!
Here is my finished altered candle.

Petaloo new year3

I first placed a thick burlap ribbon around the candle, then placed the flowers down before I glued them to the candle to make sure I liked the way they were arranged.

I took apart a couple of the Sugared Berry Clusters and placed them inbetween some of the flowers after they had been glued down.

Tis' the season } Die-namite last minute gift idea

Hey there everyone,  I wanted to share my latest project for Die-namites with you today.  This week we are focusing on last minute gifts over on the Die-namites blog!!  I created this last minute treat gift as a fun little way to give those Holiday treats to your co-workers.  I'm always looking for fun ways to give holiday treats to people other than on a platter.  I came across these cute SRM boxes and began decorating them.  I filled them with Christmas M&M's.

I love how this Bird Wreath looks when it's cut out so I used that die for this project.

I cut a strip of pattern paper and placed that across the bottom part of the box both on the front and back side.  I used one of the tags from the paper collection.  I popped up the sentiment on the tag and tied it on the handle of the box with some May Arts ribbon.

I grabbed the Bird Wreath die and cut the pattern paper out with it.  put just a little adhesive on the left side of the wreath and adhered it to the back side of the sentiment, by only adhering the one side it allowed me to wrap it around the sentiment to highlight the tis' the season.

Supplies Used:
Die-namites - Bird Wreath
Simple Stories - DIY collection
SRM - box
May Arts - Ribbon
M&M's

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope this gives you a cute and easy last minute gift idea for your co-workers.

Beautiful Ornament Fun

Hello everyone, sharing a project with you today that I created for the  Die-namites. blog.   I am using one of the Tim Holtz portfolios to make a little Christmas mini for myself this year.  On this mini album I wanted to use the Beautiful Ornament die.  I LOVE this die so much.  The ornament is so elegant looking when it is cut out.

So after I placed the pattern paper on my mini it was time to grab the ornament die.  I cut this out of cardstock rather then pattern paper this time around.  I ran the ornament through my Xyron machine to place adhesive all over it.  I pulled the ornament off of the sheet, turned it sticky side up, then sprinkled Festive Berries Distress Glitter on it (I don't usually use glitter but wanted to try it....I have glitter in my hair still)!!!  I actually cut the top of the ornament off (the branch part) and used some greenery instead for the top part.

Here is a close up of the ornament....the glitter makes it look so beautiful!!

Supplies Used:
Die-namites - Beautiful Ornament
Ranger - Walnut stain distress ink, Festive Berries distress glitter

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today, have a fabulous day!

Christmas Card Holder

Hello everyone, today i'm sharing my 10 Days Of Christmas project with you that I created for Petaloo.  I simply adore Graphic 45 papers and Petaloo flowers together....it's simply the PERFECT holiday match!!  So i'm sitting thinking what am I going to make?  I'm looking around my craft room and I see this gift box, plain just sitting on the self saying pick me!  After I stare at it for awhile I knew what I was going to use it for.  I'm going to display it on the table and place our Christmas cards in it that we get in the mail.  The size of the box is 8" x 8" so it's plenty big enough.
Ok so lets start with the finished project then a few close ups.  I used the red paper for the sides of the box and the top of the lid, and the green paper to imitate ribbon tied around the gift.

Petaloo G45 Dec1

I grabbed myPetaloo goodies and started placing them on the lid.  I didn't glue them down until I was happy with the way the looked.  I actually took a photo with my phone once I had them the way I wanted so that when I glued them down I remembered where I wanted them.
You can see in the next photo that I placed one of the die cuts upand put the flowers and berry clusters around them.  Once I glued the clusters down and they dried I spread them apart.

Can I just say I wish it was Christmas all year so I could always leave this out!!!

Some of the leaves I only glued the end down so I could bend the leaves so that they didn't lay flat.
