Say It With Letters + ScraPerfect= One rocking skull

Hey there everyone. Today i'm sharing my first project as a design team member of Say It With Letters. I added some of my ScraPerfect goodies and it created one rocking skull :) So I got this wooden skull in the mail, I put it on my desk next to some yummy Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows and looked at it for awhile.

I placed my ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever all across the skull then placed the paper down. I let it sit for a bit then sanded the edges. I thought to myself...umm...needs a little something else. I thought maybe some earings (brads)!! Since this is a wooden piece and the paper was already placed down I couldn't put the brads through the paper. I took the backing off the brads, used my Embellie Gellie to hold the brad while placing the best glue ever on the back, then stuck it down where I wanted it.

Ok so that part was done but it needed a little something else....a headband and a bow :) I used the Tim Holtz rosette for this one and some of the stickers.

Well there you have it....my funky Halloween decor. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a fabulous day!

Operation Julie's Smile } Blog Hop with TONS of prizes

I had the opprotunity to finally meet Julie this past summer at CHA! She is simply so sweet and just a great person. Many may know that a few weeks ago, Julie Ranae had to have emergency oral surgery resulting in the removal of her two front teeth. The dentist at that time believed the best course of action would be to remove the rest of her teeth and replace them with permanents. (as to avoid *years* of dental work) Relieved at finding a solution to this major dental problem .. she visited the office for dental surgery the week. Unfortunately, it wasn't the visit she was expecting. After the consultation and scheduling the surgery, the surgeon's office informed her that she would need to bring $4000 back to the appointment with her and they would proceed. This amount would not include the 'dentures' to follow.

There will be a benefit blog hop called 'Operation Julie's Smile' that will take place Oct 7-9. There are a variety of companies and design teams who will be participating in this hop to help raise funds for this benefit.
So far, over $1000 in prizes have been made available and will be awarded for both participants and those who donate.

Operation Julie's Smile is now accepting designers/teams who would like to be a part of the benefit hop. If you are interested
in getting involved in this creative fundraising event, please contact Nicole Rixon at nicolehrixon@gmail.com The deadline to be
a part of the hop is Wednesday, Sept 28th. Participants will be notified of the blog hop order between Oct 3rd-5th.

This blog hop is an opportunity to have fun, feature your design work and raise money for a friend in need.

Be sure to look on the side bar of all of the designers blog as there will be a donation button link.

I look forward to sharing my creation with all of you for this special hop!!

Trick Or Treat } MME Mischievous

Hey there everyone, hope you are all having a good Monday! Today i'm sharing a fun little home decor project today using the fun new Halloween line Mischievous from MME designed by Robyn Meierotto. Can I just say how much I love this line. The touch of blue really just grabbed me, not to mention the super cute paper designs and fun chipboard shapes!!

I created this project using 3 4x6 picture frames. I removed the glass from the frames, then applied paper to the chipboard backing using ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever. For anyone looking for this FABULOUS line you can pick it up at The Scrapbooking Studio (if your local) or even call the store and they will ship it to you.

I created the rosettes using the Tim Holtz die, and all of the fun chipboard shapes are from the chipboard elements sheet. Here are a couple of close up pics.

Well thanks for stopping by today, hope you enjoyed my fun little halloween home decor project.

WOOHOO!! Finally it's the day I get to share what I created this month as a GDT for Nikki Sivils. First of all I want to thank Nikki and the diva's for having me this month!! Well it's obviously no shock to you that I simply love her lines! They are so much fun to create with. So after CHA I had to pick which lines I wanted to create with. So I picked My Lil' Monster & You're A Hoot. I created a couple of mini albums of course, a layout and a card. I'm going to split this post into 2 days, since there are so many pictures.

Today i'm going to share with you the creations using My Lil' Monster line. Here is the fun layout with this line. I also had to use the burlap button that I simply love and the fun brads!

Here is the fun little mini album I created with this line. You all know I love mini's. I created little pockets for the tags here and there, did a little inking and popping up some of the cute images.

So as you can see I had a blast with this line!! Can I tell you how much I LOVE the new die cut shapes also!! I also used the burlap buttons on this one (my favorite buttons), and added a little ribbon here and there. Make sure you stop by the blog today and say hi!!

Playin' Around

Hey they fellow bloggers....hope you all have had a wonderful long holiday weekend with your family and friends. I want to share a layout with you today that I created using a couple of fabulous ScraPerfect product!!

I have created this fun vintage layout using the October Afternoon paper line 5 & Dime along with some of the chipboard stickers as well. I love using chipboard shapes and letters, however it seems that they always fall off of my layouts or projects. ScraPerfect's Best Glue Ever works wonders for this problem. I applied just a small amount of glue and set them off to the side just for a bit until they were a little tacky, then they were ready to apply to my creation. Once I placed them where I wanted them they were stuck and not coming off. The nice thing is when I was placing them down they didn't slide around like when I have used other glue, therefore there were not any marks or clumps of dried glue when I was done. The Best Glue Ever dries fast, clear, and has a super strong hold. Adheres to a variety of materials including paper, plastic, metal, ceramic, fabric, foam, wood, rubber and more. Another nice thing about this glue it that it doesn't wrinkle or crease your paper and the thin tip applicator is perfect for writing and detalied applications, not to mention there are no fumes with this glue either!!

Another great ScraPerfect product is the Perfect Crafting Pouch. On this layout I used the pouch before stamping the word "Remember" in the upper left of the layout. Notice how crisp and clear the word is. The ink didn't smudge or bleed at all. On the lower right of the layout I didn't use it before stamping the year "2011". You can see how the ink did bleed a little and is not as crisp as the other one. The Pouch is the”printing, stamping, ink-drying, embossing, anti-static, clay-releasing, sticker-deactivating Multi-Purpose Crafting Tool”. Often described as a felt ‘ravioli’ filled with a special formula of acid-free, talc-free, non-toxic powders, it: dries inks instantly in a variety of applications and stops static cling for glitter & embossing powders.

Thanks for stopping by today....hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Hey there everyone, I know you all have been wondering how Olivia is doing. I am so grateful that you are all keeping her in your thoughts and prayers. I have been trying to answer emails from everyone so here is what I know right now.

First of all.....Olivia is HOME :):):):)

This is a post from her mom Christina Klauer's facebook page.
August 30, 2011-
Wowzers...today was a day of alot of information!!! Started off that we found out for sure Olivia was going to have to have some physical and speech therapy,we were given some time to ask around about great places in our area and for the most part, we heard the most positives about The Children's Therapy Center in Moline & Augustana's Speech therapy. We decided to start with The Children's Therapy Center in hopes of keeping it all in one place. We learned results of Olivia's pathology report, her tumor is a Grade 2, Ependymoma & was located in the Posterior Fossa. With that said Olivia has great things in her favor, one being they removed the entire tumor, the 2nd being the MRI after surgery shows it is no where else. Olivia's treatment plan will consist of 30-34 radiation treatments given Monday-Friday for 6 or so weeks. She will start with a simulation session probably next week, which will include a very detailed CT and MRI, then she will have a impression of her teeth made for a bite plate as well as be fitted for an eye mask. These are both used during her radiation treatments. After that initial appointment, they will be able to start treatments a week later. You ask, "why radiation if they removed the whole tumor"...the chance of reaccurance is 50% without radiation and with radiation she only has a 20-30% chance of it coming back.If Olivia can sit still and cooperate she can get her radiation treatments without sedation..i have my fingers crossed!!!After radiation Olivia will be having MRI's done at least 4 times a year for the first couple of years, then it will decrease to 2 a year and so on.Thank you all again for your continued support, love, & prayers!!As Dr. Menezes said at our first consultation our lives are changed!! We will get through this just like we got through the surgery!!!

September 1,
We are finally home after 17 days in the hospital, Woo Hoo!!! It is so great to all be under one roof again.Prior to being discharged from the hospital yesterday Olivia was seen in the Otolaryngology Clinic where they placed a small tube with a camera attached into Olivia's nose to check her nose & throat. Olivia's Cranial Nerves 9,10,11,& 12 have been affected by the tumor/surgery it is hard to determine if this is long term damage or not, they are pretty confident it is not & all will be determined after radiation, because that can also affect the cranial nerves. These nerves control things such as the taste on the posterior 1/3 of the tongue, the somatonsensory information from the tongue, tonsil, pharynx,& controls some muscles in swallowing, head movement, and the muscles of the tongue. We will ba going back to Iowa City on Tuesday to have Olivia's Radiation Simulation Session (which i described in last post) and then she will get her stitches taken out in the Neurosurgery Clinic. Radiation should then begin the following week.

Here is a picture of this weeks mail call for you....again your thoughts are prayers have helped her so much!!! I have misplaced my paper with all the names on it...(actually I think I left it at Olivia's house) so I will post names of everyone later this week.

Again I want to thank EVERYONE for all of the well wishes. Her eyes light up when I come with mail!!! I do know that we are now over 100 cards/packages....and she does NOT stop until every single one is open!!! :)

Playing with a little Nikki Sivils } Gingerbread Land

Yes...I know it's only September :) I was just in the mood to create a mini and had some pictures of us baking cookies from Christmas! And wow the pictures were from 2009....and they were not scrapped yet. See I knew I was saving them for the perfect paper!!! :)

So my mini has lots of different shapes in it this time. I think it made it look pretty fun. Here is the cover of this one. I also added a fun little Maya Road gingerbread man on the front.

Now for the inside....

So i'm loving the new little die cut punch outs that Nikki has come out with this time around!!! They make all the projects super fun and so easy to use :) The supplies I used on this one....Nikki Sivils Gingerbread Land, Xyron Creatopia, Bind-It-All and some misc ribbons.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day!!
