Sketchabilities #48 } Top Secret Recipe

Hello everyone, it's that time again. Another fun fabulous sketch is up over at Sketchabilities!! Karan always creates wonderful sketches for us to create with. Check out the latest sketch.

I had some cute pictures of Luis "cooking" at the museum so I thought they would fun to use.

On this layout I mixed two lines from Fancy Pants. I used To The Moon & Beach Bum. Added a little Twinery Twine around the journaling and some fun Pink Paislee alphas all of which I grabbed at The Scrapbooking Studio!

Don't forget to upload you take on the sketch to the gallery for a chance to be a guest designer.

CAS-UAL Friday Challenge 3 } Cosmo Cricket ODDS & ENDS

I'm loving the new challenge up at CAS-UAL Fridays right now. The challenge is to simply add a little bling to your CAS creation. LOVE IT!!! Here is my take on it.

So all of the super fun things on this card I picked up at The Scrapbooking Studio. (Cosmo Cricket is not there yet but will be soon, this is a store sample). So I used Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends, Twinery Twine (Cappuccino), which Amy ordered!! The fun vintage button is in the Cafe bin for 50 cents a scoop..WOOHOO!!! I used some distress ink on the edges and topped it off with a little red bling!! Don't forget you have until Wed to get this CAS challenge done! There is some yummy Nikki Sivils paper for the winner. Good luck to all!!

A little inking fun!!!

So yesterday I wanted to do something different, out of the box for me. I altered a Maya Road album and turned it into my art journal. Right now I only have the cover done but not the inside....so i'll share it with you :) Let me just say that I had so much fun creating this and getting my hands dirty :):):) Here is one view of the album.

Here is another view so you can see the flower a little better.

Ok so what did I use on this?!?!?! Good question...I was just grabbing inks & stains left and right. I started with the album and used Ranger butterscotch color wash on the cover. There is also a little denium color wash in there. For my distress stains I used wild honey & peeled paint. Inks were distress ink faded jeans & brushed corduroy. I used some perfect pearls mist heirloom gold (my favorite)!! A little grungeboard for the flowers using the Tim Holtz alterations die tattered florals. A few Wendy Vecchi Art Parts, and I grabbed a Maya Road pin & crystal charm, Kaiser Craft pearl, Tim Holtz button & token charm. I used some Tim Holtz stamps & I think thats all :):):) All of this you can grab at The Scrapbooking Studio (locally or online)!!

Well thats all for today. I have a very busy day ahead...my daughter has her junior high formal dance tonight and finds out if she made the high school cheer squard for her freshman year. Hope you all have a fabby weekend!!!

Taggin It } PDDC #81

I know two posts in one day...i've been busy :) Well the new color challenge is up at The Play Date Cafe and once again the colors this week are fabulous!! Purple, Olive Green & Grey!! So I wanted to do something different for my take on it this week rather than the card I usually do, instead I created a tag. For the base of the tag I blended two colors of distress ink on this...dusty concord (purple) & peeled paint (green).

Next I stamped the saying in the lower right corner and stamped some swirls around the outside of the tag. I edged the tag using a metallic paint dobber (silver). The flowers are Wendy Vecchi Art Parts which I misted using Olive Vine on one & Fully Purple on the other, then placed a little Teresa Collins bling in the center. The grey ribbon on the tied on the top is Prima, and added some fun Twinery twine (lilac) across the bottom. Once it was all in place I added some Prima bling swirls around the flowers and it was done.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to go over to The Play Date Cafe and submit your take on the challenge.

Sketchabilities #47 } LYB Elizabeth Park

Hello everyone...it's that time again!! Time for another wonderful sketch from Karan Gerber at Sketchabilities. I totally love the design of this one, so many fun possibilities. Make sure you upload your take on the sketch to the Sketchabilities gallery for chance to become a guest designer!!
So here is the wonderful sketch we had to work with.

Now my take on the sketch.

On this layout I used the fun springy paper line from LYB Elizabeth Park. This line was perfect for those fun outdoor pictures of Marcos playing with his toy. There were lots of fun little shapes to cut out and pop up. I added some fun Sassafras letters (yellow), thickers (black) & MLS stickers (orange)...all of which I picked up at The Scrapbooking Studio. I added some yummy Mandarin twine from The Twinery on this one also.

Thanks for stopping by everyone...don't forget to get you take on the sketch uploaded to the gallery for your chance to be a guest designer!!

A Little Altered Art :)

Hey there everyone, I had a little time today so yes I created!!! :) Tomorrow Wendy Vecchi is coming to teach a class at The Scrapbooking Studio and i'm super excited. So to get in the mood I played with some of her Art Parts. I used the Spool Set & Florals for this one. To cute it up I used of of my favorites..Nikki Sivils. On this one I used the Beatrice line. Once I picked which paper on wanted on the shapes I ran them through my Xyron Creatopia for the super sticky adhesive and got to work. Here is what I came up with.

Here is a different angle.

I also used some Tattered Angels mist; Jingle Bells on the fabric flower I created and Pomegrante on the Art Part flower. For the leaf I used Adirondack Acryclic Paint (Espresso). I also added a little Prima for the branches and a Maya Road pin.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Tossing Bags } Echo Park

Hey there everyone, well the weekend is coming to an end. Boy has it been a busy one....between National Scrapbooking Day and Mother's Day the weekend totally flew by.

Well i'm sharing a layout with you I created using the Playground line by Echo Park, and some yummy Twinery twine. I wanted to put some sort of border around the cardstock on this one. I used my Xyron 150 and ran the twine through it so I could stick it on this layout with no mess. It worked perfectly!!

Ariel just loves playing with little man when they come to visit...she is the best Aunt!!!

So on this one I used Echo Park paper, Xyron adhesive, The Twinery twine (charcoal), American Crafts thickers (orange)& foam pop dots.
Well thanks for stopping by, hope you have all enjoyed your weekend and had a fabulous Mother's Day!!

Fun Friday Challenge } Lucky Girl Crafts

Hey there everyone, it's that time again....Fun Friday Challenge over at Lucky Girl Crafts!! I have to say I love this months kit, there are so many possibilities with it. The Pink Paislee paper line is one of my favorites. Since it's a birthday theme line, I started to look around the house to see what I had to alter. My grandson is going to be one in June, so I found the perfect frame to alter so that we can place a picture of him in it after the big celebration. Here is what I came up with.

So this is my challenge to you...look around your house and see what you come up with to alter. It can be anything..a frame for a picture, a tin to keep all of those special notes in, a box to gift a gift in. I'm sure if you look ladies you have lots of stuff to alter and turn into something special!

My Nikki Sivils GDT submission :)

Hey there girls...well i'm sharing a couple of things I created using some yummy Nikki Sivils collections. There is a GDT call going on right now. You can find out some more info on Nikki's Blog. I simply love all of her collections and have been creating tons with them since they hit the LSS The Scrapbooking Studio. From the paper, brads, mini albums and OMG those yummy burlap buttons...we'll you get the point right!!

There are two sketches posted that you are to use when creating your submission. There is a card sketch and a layout sketch created by Anam Stubbington. The sketches are really cute. I went with the card sketch for my submission. However that being said...after having all of the lines all over my desk I couldn't pick which one I wanted to use, so I made two cards. My first card I used two of her lines together. I used Summer & It's Your Day for this one. I added a little bit of twine and some pearls to this one.

For the next card I used Max & Mollie...I just love the colors and design of this line.

Here is the sketch that I went off of for these two cards.

So ladies...if your love Niiki's stuff stop over on the blog, get the info and give this a shot!!!

Congrats } Nikki Sivils Wedding Challenge

Good morning everyone. Today I wanted to share with you a card I made for a challenge over on Nikki Sivils facebook page. Last week the challenge was to create something "wedding themed" in honor of the big royal wedding. I created this fun little wedding card. I used U R My Favorite paper line, the cake was from It's Your Day, and the "Congrats" letter were from the Max & Mollie line.

I love the way it turned out :) Now if I only knew someone getting married soon!! On the card I did a little stitching around it, some inking, and of course popped the cake and hearts up off the card. I made the flower on the lower left using my scallop punch and added a couple resin flowers. There you have it a card fit for a queen!!

Well thanks so much for stopping by, have a fabulous day!!
