Graduation Gift Bag

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by today.  This week on the Petaloo blog we have had an amazing week of Dads and Grads projects.  Today i'm sharing a fun little altered gift bag idea which would be perfect for either day.  I'm going to use mine for a graduation gift.

I love the Timekeeper collection from Marion Smith which is what I used on this project.  Graduation day is such a huge moment in time and this collection also symbolizes how time has flown by watching my daughter and her friends grow up since grade school.
This is the finished altered gift bag.

In the close up photo below you can see I added a couple metal gear embellishments to accent the main clock.  I used Petaloo Yellow Dahlias and also intermixed a couple of Ivory Textured Mini Blossoms. I used a 1" punch to punch out a few of the clocks from one of the pattern papers from this collection and popped them up in a couple different spots on the bag.  I also spotted a few butterflies on the paper and of course had to add those as well.  Finally I had some shear yellow ribbon to tie a little bow on the handle of the bag.

My LIttle Princess

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by today for a Mother's Day inspiration project featuring Petaloo and Quick Quotes.  I don't know about all of you, but I tend to make projects for other people and never for myself.....that being said I wanted to created something for me for Mother's Day!!  I created a layout of my not so little girl!!  She will be off to college in the fall so I made a layout with one of her Senior pictures.  I don't have the shadow box yet, but i'm going to grab one and then place this in our living room!
Here is the completed layout (minus the shadow box). I'm loving this collection from Quick Quotes Gypsy Road.  This line goes perfect with the photo.  I love the brick pattern paper and cut it out around the edges for a different look

Now for a couple of close ups.

You can see in the picture below how the Petaloo Burlap Wild Sunflowers look amazing around all of the Quick Quotes embellishments and helps to bring out the color in the lined pattern paper I used as the base!

Journey Layout} Teaming up with Petaloo & Marion Smith

Hello everyone, Stacy here with you today!!  I'm totally loving the Marion Smith products that she shared with us to create with....team that up with Petaloo goodies and you can't go wrong!
It's crunch time for me in trying to get my daughters high school book complete before the graduation party and Marion's Timekeeper collection was perfect for one of her Senior pictures.

Petaloo marion smith1

Here are a couple of close ups of the amazing Petaloo flowers and trims. You can see that I did alot of cutting images from this collection out to use as embelishments on the layout and popped them up to add different dimension to the layout.  I added some of the Petaloo Cream trim along the bottom of the photo, and did a little punch action up the side of the cream paper under the photo. Since this was one of her Senior photos I actually saved the "Timekeeper" part from the pattern paper which was on the barcode....it was a perfect word for this layout!!

Petaloo marion smith2

The Petaloo flowers I went with on this layout are Burlap Wild Sunflowers (ivory) and Sugared Blooms (mocha)....again a perfect match for this collection!!!

Eggciting Home Decor

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by today.  I'm sharing a project that I created for Petaloo with amazing papers shared with us by Authentique!!  I love to alter things and when I came across this paper mache flat egg I knew I had to have it for this project!!
I took pieces of the pattern paper from the Authentique collection Treasure.  Some of the pieces i cut smaller then others and even tried to do a curved piece along with cutting with the chevron papers for another.  I then inked the edges and cut the excess off to form the shape of the egg.  Once the paper was on it was time to decorate with the beautiful Petaloo products.
Here is how the final project turned out....notice the little burlap butterflies at the top of the egg!!

Auth petaloo easter1

Of course we need a few close up photos to see the detail of the flowers!! The burlap collection of flowers is simply perfect with this paper collection and for this project!! I used Burlap Blossoms (pink, ivory and pistachio).  I started with placing the bigger flowers down first then added the smaller ones around them along with placing the Spring Berry Clusters (pink and white) throughout and around the flowers.

Auth petaloo easter2

You can see that I added a couple of the diecut sayings to the egg and placed all of the flowers around them.  I did pop them up with foam dots so they did not lay flat by the flowers.

Petaloo - Burlap Blossoms (PistachioIvory, and Pink), Spring Berry Clusters (pink, white)

Loving Greetings

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by today.  Well Valentine's Day is tomorrow....so you better grab all your craft goodies and get those last minute cards for that special someone done.  I created this card for the Die-namites blog for the Week Of Love.  Make sure you stop on over and check out all of the amazing projects up this week.

My parents anniversary is tomorrow and it's always hard to find those Valentine Anniversary cards, so this year I just made them one!  I used two of the amazing Die-namite dies for this card.  Let me share the dies I used with you, first up is the Pear Tree Die.

....and the next is the Tulip Vase Die.

So now for the card I came up with.  I used Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments collection for this one.

You can see in the next photo a close up of the dies used.  I cut the Pear Tree die with the blue pattern paper, then cut the branches apart and placed them on the card.  I layered them a bit to give it a fuller look.  Next I cut the Tulip Vase die using the pink pattern paper.  I then cut it apart to have single tulips and placed them around the blue branches.

I can say that my parents will now have a one of a kind Valentine Anniversary card.

Supplies Used:
Die-namites - Pear Tree, Tulip Vase
Graphic 45 - Sweet Sentiments Collection
Xyron - Mega Runner
Bazzill - Cream Cardstock
Ranger - Walnut Stain Distress Ink

Birthday Fun with Die-namites

This week over on the Die-namites blog we are sharing creations made with the fabulous birthday dies!!!!  There are some super cute projects that the design team will be sharing with you this upcoming week, so make sure you stop by the blog everyday!!

I created these two projects for the birthday hop....a birthday card and a gift tag.

The first die I used was the Birthday Gift die.

And the second die was the Hanging Presents die.

So my first project, of course everyone will need a birthday card this year to give to someone right.  The hanging presents are super cute in the corners of the card.  I popped them up with a foam pop dot.

Up next is a git tag.  You can tie this on any gift bag to dress it up!  I love the way the Birthday Gift looks on this tag.

Supplies Used:

A Card A Month

Hey there everyone thanks for stopping by today.  As the holidays have come to an end and the decorations come down I must admit i'm already thinking of gifts for next year!!  I know i'm not crazy and some of you are thinking of that also, you may have even grabbed some good deals with all of the after Christmas sales!

One thing i'm creating for a handmade gift for next year is a set of cards.  Cards for all occasions!  I want to make one or two cards a month just for this gift and then put them in a nice box for next year.  I figured there is no better time to start then first thing in the new year.  I'm going to share my first card creation for my gift box with you today.

Lets start with the amazing Die-namite die that I used to create this one.  I love adding things to the corners of cards so I used the Scrolly Corner on this one.

I created this card using the Graphic 45 collection Time To Celebrate.  I thought everyone needs a little Congratulations card to send out for something during the year!!

You can see I tied a little ribbon on the left side, which left the right side of the card a little plain....just the perfect spot to add the Scrolly Corner to.  I added a little Walnut Stain distress ink to it (not to much), then ran it through my Xyron 510 and placed it on the card.

Hopefully after I create these cards and box them up I will still want to give them away!!!

Supplies Used:
Die-namites - Scrolly Corner
Graphic 45 - Time To Celebrate
May Arts - Green ribbon
Xyron - Mega Runner, foam squares, 510

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today.  I hope this inspires you to create more handmade cards this year!
