Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! Today I wanted to share with you the cover of a mini ablum that I created for a friend. Recently her grandmother passed away and I wanted to make something for her to keep some of her special photos in of the two of them together. I'm only sharing the cover with you so that the inside is only seen by her.

For this one I used the Crate paper line Farmhouse, since I thought the vintage feel of it was perfect. I picked this line up at The Scrapbooking Studio, along with the Maya Road ribbon, Teresa Collins frame and well just everything else that is in this album.

For the rosette I used my Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect to keep this together, which also held the Teresa Collins frame with no problem.

Supplies used: Crate Paper - Farmhouse line, ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever, Teresa Collins frames, Tim Holtz goodies, Maya Road ribbon & stick pin.

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you have a fabulous night!

Operation Julie's Smile Hop

Hey there fellow bloggers. I'm so happy to be part of this HUGE blog hop to help out our friend Julie and THANK you so much for joining us....plus i'm hanging with the DT girls again from CAS-ual Fridays for my part in this fabulous hop :) I am so glad that you joined us on this amazing blog hop for Operation Julie’s Smile. If you came here from Virgina Lu’s blog, then you are in the right spot. If not, you may want to start from the beginning at the Sweet Stamp Shop’s blog and take your time. You have ALL WEEKEND to hop with us and win prizes! This hop will end BLOG HOP RUNS THROUGH SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9th AT 11:59pm EST, so sit back and get ready to be inspired and WIN LOTS of prizes.

Here is a little background info for you about what has been happening with Julie. The creative blogging community is coming together this weekend to help one of our friends, Julie Ranae. You may know her as the Design Team Coordinator for many wonderful companies from bakers twine, die cuts, rubber stamps and more. What many people don’t know about Julie Ranae is that she has had some pretty major dental surgeries in her lifetime due to medication she had to take as a child. It was in her plans to think about having all of her teeth replaced at some point in the next 5 years, a decision that was pretty easy to plan out. But then it happened…she chipped her front teeth on a weekend a month ago. The dentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was his recommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.
Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight!
Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done. It is the goal of all of these generous friends & sponsors to help make this situation more do-able for our friend so that she can share a brand new smile with all of us soon.
If there is anything you can do to help with a financial donation, there is a donation button ready for you to click. Any amount is appreciated and ALL DONATIONS will be eligible for prizes from our sponsor pool of over $2500

So here is this weeks challenge that we worked on for CAS-ual Fridays.

And now here is my take on this challenge.

I hope you enjoyed your stop here on the hop! The next stop is Laurie Willison’s blog. Make sure you leave a comment here before you go so that you can have a chance at the amazing prizes up for grabs and if you can, (click HERE to find the donation button on CAS-ual Fridays Blog) so we can help bring back a new smile for our friend.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Now for the fabulous sponsor who was so kind to share some yummy stamps with us!!! This weeks sponsor is Stampotique :)

So for my project I altered this Graphic 45 5x5 kraftboard art box. It has a fun little insert that you can decorate and add photos to. I created this for my daughters best friend with pictures of the two of them for her birthday.

The fun Stampotique stamps I got to play with are the cloud on the front and the fun "Fabulous" stamp....which it totally me because I use that word ALOT!!

Here is what the outside of the box looks like.

And when you open it up you get to see the fun fabulous stamp.

Well so you have until next Wednsday to give this "Fabulous" color challenge a shot ladies! Hope on over to the PDCC and check out all of the fun projects the DT has created this week.

Happy creating and I will see ou next week with another fabby PDDC challenge :)

Mischievous Fun } MME

Hey there fellow bloggers, how about a little Halloween fun today with a tag!! I love to make tags and since it had been awhile since I created one, well what better time than now right!!!

So I started with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Tag & Bookplate to cut the tag out of Ranger Manila cardstock. First I inked the tag using Ranger distress ink (gathered twigs, ripe persimmon, and a hint of tumbled glass).

Once I finished my inking it was time to stamp the background of the tag. Before rubbed the Perfect Crafting Pouch from ScraPerfect across the entire tag to make sure I would get a perfect stamped image, then stamped away!

Now it's time to decorate....for this I used the fun new Halloween line from My Minds Eye, Michevious designed by Robyn Meierotto, along with all of the chipboard embellies that go with it. Of course I had to add a new Halloween token from Tim Holtz. For the fabulous roseette die I used ScraPerfects The Best Glue Ever to hold this together, and also to adhere the flower on top of it, add a little Maya Road stick pin in and it's done. All of the yummy products used on this tag you can grab at The Scrapbooking Studio!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful day!
