The Play Date Cafe Challenge } #78

Do you love a color challenge??? I so you need to check out The Play Date Cafe. They have a fun new challenge up every week. This is my third week playing along and i'm loving it. I have to say....this one was a challenge for me for sure!! I love the colors, but had a hard time picking out the paper to use. After changing my mind 3 times on the paper and after 2 hours of trying to design it...it was done!! Ok so that being said I gave the card to hubby's grandma this past weekend for her birthday having NOT took a picture of it, so yep...it's time to start all over :) Here is what I came up with the second time around.

So for this card I used some an older line Togetherness from Cosmo Cricket. I needed some red in it so I used a BoBunny double dot sheet for the background paper. Added a little border punch, and pop dotted up some things I cut out from the paper itself. Throw in some Kaiser Craft pearls and some yummy twine from The Twinery (blossom)and there you have it...challenge 78 is done :)
Thanks for stopping by!!!

A grandfathers love is unconditional

Well the busy weekend is winding down and I hope you have all enjoyed some family time this weekend. We had a super busy fun family day on Saturday. We celebrated Tim's grandmas 90th birthday. I of course took tons of pictures, but I must confess this one is probably my favorite of the day. Marcos was so content being in papa Tim's arms. I think they were both so tired that had they been sitting on the couch they would have both been asleep.

I created this layout for a contest via Nikki Sivils newsletter. If you haven't signed up for that newsletter yet, stop by her blog and get signed up!! So what yummy lines did I use on this one??? I used Nikki's Summer line, Beatrice line, & the majority of the layout is using We Are Family. I also used my last burlap button...(so I must get more of those) I grabbed all of these lines at The Scrapbooking Studio (which you can order online ladies)!!! I added a little twine from The Twinery (Cappuccino) and some Kaiser Craft pearls (blue), put it all together with my Xyron adhesive and the layout was complete. I titled it "A grandfathers love is unconditional". I had the most fabulous relationship with my grandfather and miss him everyday...I can only hope that these two will have the same!!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day!!

Lessons from the Easter Bunny

Hey there girls...a couple of years ago this Easter card was given to me with lessons from the Easter bunny in it. Since it is Easter weekend I thought some of you would get a kick out of it, so i'm sharing it with you today.

~Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

~Walk softly and carry a big carrot.

~Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

~There's no such thing as to much candy.

~All work and no play can make you a basket case.

~Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

~Let happy thought multiply like rabbits.

~Some body parts should be floppy.

~Keep your paws off other peoples jellybeans.

~Good things come in small sugar-coated packages.

~The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.

~An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare.

~To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell.

~The best things in life are still sweet and gooey!!

Hope you all have a fabulous Easter weekend :):):)

Oh! Baby } Xyron & Crate Paper

My guest design project for Xyron :):)Oh! Baby....what a combo Xyron & Crate Paper!!! I needed to create a baby card to go along with the mini album I posted earlier using Emma's Shoppe. On this card I used the design runner for the sentiment. The disc used is the starter disc image #15 "Oh! Baby". To make sure the sentiment was straight I also used the guide from the Design Runner Accessory Kit. I did a little decorative punching and ran that pretty pink twine from The Twinery through it. Don't forget when putting everything together, grab your adhesive runner to finish the job! So here is the sweet baby card I created.

Here are the yummy supplies used...Xyron (adhesive, design runner & accessory kit), Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe paper & chipboard shapes, The Twinery Twine (Blossom), Zva pearls.

Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous day!!

Baby mini album } Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe Collection

Happy Monday everyone :):):) Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I'm sharing with you a baby gift that I made for a friend having a baby girl, who they have named Grace. I love the Crate paper line Emma's Shoppe for this project. I was perfect. The colors, style, design, not to mention the fun chipboard shapes! I'm just sharing the cover with you today.

I started this book by cutting chipboard to the size of 5x8 then cut all the paper. Next I ran the paper through my Xyron Creatopia which made it quick and easy to adhere the paper!! I inked all of the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink. Now it was time to embellish! For this fun task I used the some chipboard shapes that went with the paper collection, Prima pearls, Maya Road; flowers (yellow & resin flower Pink), stick pin, ribbon & wooden button! I picked up all of these fabulous goodies at The Scrapbooking Studio (which you can order online also ladies). On my wooden button I wrapped some yummy twine from The Twinery (Caribbean) Well that's all for today everyone, thanks for stopping by!!

It's Your Day } Grandma

Happy birthday grandma!!!! Yep today grandma is turning 77!!! It's been a tough 5 or 6 years though. Grandma has battled cancer 4 times....3 of those have been within the past 5 years. Two weeks ago grandma fell twice in one day...she spent about 5 days in the hospital with a broken wrist and a fractured C3 in her neck. I told her we were going to "bling" out her cast on her wrist!!! She is one tough cookie :):) She is home now so today we are celebrating her birthday with a little cake and ice cream. Grandma loves yankee candle tarts so I created this gift bag to hold them in.

Ok so the yummy products I used...Nikki Sivils It's Your Day line, Xyron adhesive, Maya Road bingo chip, The Twinery twine (pink sorbet), Kaiser pearls (blue).

Well that's all for today...i'll post some pictures if grandma lets me bling out her cast :):)

Charming } Nikki Sivils & Tim Holtz

Well it's finally the weekend!!! Hope you all have something fabulous planned :) I'm sharing a little "charming" project with you today :) I love the colors in the U R My Favorite line from Nikki Sivils....so I thought why not turn it into a charm bracelet!!! In order to do this I grabbed some Tim Holtz products to go along with it. Here is how it turned out.

So first I grabbed the fragments from Tim Holtz and cut the paper a little bigger then the fragment. I used glossy accents to adhere the paper to the fragment, let it dry, then used my blade to cut as close as possible. I put all the charms on the chain & toggle with jump rings all from Tim Holtz. So there you have it....my "charming" little project!! Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous weekend!!

The Play Date Cafe Challenge 76

Hey there everyone, well today i'm sharing a card I created for the challenge up over at The Play Date Cafe. I love the colors in this challenge!!! Here is my entry for this one.

On this card I started with kraft cardstock for the base. Then I used a piece of off white paper from the LYB Twig line and used my Sanded background stamp with the color Pacific Point. Of course I had to ink the edges with distress brushed corduroy. I cut out some of the leaves to create that flower, punched a 1 1/4" circle out then place a Nikki Sivils burlap button in the center. I added a little bling with the Magnolia crystals, and a beautiful Prima butterfly, and added a little bakers twine. Put it all together with my Xyron adhesive and there you have it. My entry is done :) Thanks for stopping by!!
